Selkirk students praise end of adult basic education fees

The Selkirk College Students Union is celebrating a provincial government decision: adult basic education will be made free again.

Director-at-large Santanna Hernandez says it’s something they’ve long been calling for.

Hernandez says Selkirk students were among the least affected because the college provided scholarships, but this past year they did finally start charging fees.

Today’s announcement reverses a previous government policy adopted two years ago.
