Gallery 2 Receives Capital Grant

Grand Forks’ Gallery 2 Arts and Heritage Centre could see some major upgrades soon. This as a Capital Grant Application worth just over $18,000 was recently accepted for lighting upgrades.

Director Curator Tim Van Wijk says it’s part of larger overall project. “We will be doing not only signage but also feature lighting on the exterior of the building, so we will be able to highlight and showcase the historic courthouse building at night with LED lighting basically around the perimeter, and it’s gonna [sic] be energy efficient and look fabulous.”

He also says you can expect them soon. “Look for the news signs in the coming months, there’s couple of bolder statement sides that we need to get approval for that’ll be in the spring, and then we’re looking to roll out the feature lighting in the early spring.”

The entire $36,000 project includes facade lighting, signage, and way-finding upgrades. The grant also allows the Gallery to work with consultants while designing, to ensure it’s usable and reliable for future. The Gallery’s Christmas Artisan Craft Fair goes Friday November 30th, from 10AM to 4pm and Saturday December 1st from 10AM to 3PM.
