Citizens of Castlegar have been given their first public viewing of the city’s proposed budget for 2016.
Not surprisingly one particular item was mentioned quite a few times.
Here’s Councilor Dan Rye.
The proposed parcel tax is $150 per property to aid the city’s infrastructure repair needs.
Rye says about 40 people were at the public meeting Tuesday which he called the biggest turnout for a budget unveiling he has seen.
He feels those who attended left with an understanding as to why the parcel tax is being considered.
