One of the eight stations that have opened to inspect boats for invasive mussels is near Castlegar.
It is located at the bottom of the Bombi Summit by the weigh scale.
Khaylish Fraser, the Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with the Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society, says its important to have these stations near borders.
These stations are open ten hours a day, seven days a week until October.
The BC Government has made these stations permanent through boating season after a successful pilot project last year.
