The MP for Kootenay-Columbia says the mainstream media and other political parties are misrepresenting the NDP’s position regarding the Leap Manifesto.
Wayne Stetski says the party has not endorsed the document, but will be engaging its members about it.
The Leap Manifesto is strongly against resource extraction and future energy infrastructure.
Stetski says he’s always been against the Keystone and Northern Gateway pipelines but others must have proper environmental review and consultation.
Meanwhile he wouldn’t say which way he voted in the leadership ballot but says Thomas Mulcair’s replacement needs to have charisma and resonate with all Canadians.
