Grand Forks Prepares For Family Day Celebrations

Family Day weekend is almost here and Grand Forks is not lacking in celebrations. This year’s event is being spearheaded by the The Downtown Business Association and the City of Grand Forks. Activities are planned Friday through Monday in the downtown, as well as at Pines Bible Camp, Wilgress Lake and more.

Coordinator Maddie Williams says it’s been great seeing how active and involved people are.

“A lot of businesses and people in town have been wanting to see what we can do even though it has been a rough year, so it’s really encouraging for me to see that as a town we still come together as a community around these things; that’s pretty awesome.”

She adds that although activities are well spread out, the main day is Saturday. Williams explains one of this year’s new additions:

“People can preregister at The Boardroom this coming week and then play A Family Feud-style game on Market Avenue on Saturday, that will be running for a few hours.”

Another new edition is a weekend-long photo scavenger hunt. Market Avenue will be closed for a few hours on Saturday as road hockey, fire truck rides and more take place from 11AM to 3PM. For a full list of scheduled events and additional information click here.
