An update to the Canadian Red Cross’ Support to Small Business Program. The deadline has been extended from March 1st to March 15th to ensure all those eligible can apply.
Emergency Program Director Elysia Dempsey says the program also covers not-for-profits:
“Small business owners and non-profits can apply for the program, and they don’t have to do it in person they can do it online, and they’ll also be in the community at 3 different locations over the next several weeks.”
Dempsey says hundreds have applied already:
“When we first ran the Support to Small Business Program for the initial $1500 we had just a little over 100 applications come in that received assistance, and so for this phase 2 we’ve had actually a little over 100 again apply, so the numbers are matching up.”
In-person support is available this week across the Boundary. This after an announcement late last year of up to 2.9-million-dollars being provided to flood affected small businesses and not for profits across the region.
