The Selkirk College class of 2016 valedictorian is Tanya Tran.
The 25 year old biology graduate from Ottawa is studying the Integrated Environmental Planning Program.
Tran says she’d never heard of Selkirk College until searching on the web.
But she has immersed herself in activities like the Student Ambassador program and also works as a peer tutor.

Tran has also connected with the Salmo Streamkeepers where she works to advocate for the protection of water resources which is her big passion .
She’ll address the college at the grad ceremony next week.
