RCMP reports Highway 3 is closed over the Kootenay Pass following a motor vehicle incident, and Drive BC is estimating it will re-open tomorrow morning. Wednesday evening’s single vehicle crash resulted in a significant fuel spill into the Salmo River, and the fatality of the vehicle’s driver. Highway 3 will be closed while environmental emergency response assesses the situation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact West Kootenay Traffic Services.
