Warm weather brings out speedsters

West Kootenay Traffic Services and the Nelson Integrated Road Safety Unit are raising concerns about speeding.

Sergeant John Ferguson says in the last week they have stopped and seized 13 vehicles.

The nice spring weather has prompted some drivers to step on the pedal.

The drivers were fined $368 for exceeding the limit by 40 kmh or $483 if they were going more than 60 kmh over.

Ferguson says they’ve stopped speedsters at all times of the day in various locations on our highways.
