A reminder that as of noon, today, Category 2 open fires are prohibited within the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction. Fires can not exceed the size of half a meter high by half a meter wide. The burning of stubble or grass of any size over any area is also banned.
The Village of Midway posted online stating their support, as they’ve had burning restrictions in place for over a week prohibiting all open fires of any size. Residents wishing to use campfire pits there must have a burning permit in accordance with the Village of Midway’s Burning bylaw.
