September is right around the corner, and that means so is Distracted Driving and Occupant Restraint month across the Province.
That From BC Traffic Services, who says the month-long campaign also includes a major one-day event targeting those offenses. They say that on average: 77 people die per year where driver distraction was a contributing factor, and 52 deaths per year for failing to utilize restrains, including belts and booster seats. B-C-Traffic Services says you can expect an increased police presence on highways across B-C this month. Police are also asking that motorists drive safely, and obey the directions of officers at check-stops.
