Water main flushing program nears for City of Greenwood

The City of Greenwood warns residents of an upcoming water main flushing program. The Public Works Department-lead project goes September 16th through October 4th, and affects residents of Greenwood, Anaconda, and North-end water users.

The City says flushing can cause pressure fluctuations, discoloration, and sediment in the water, but these conditions are only temporary. You’re urged to run your drinking, cooking, and laundry water before use. If you experience dirty water, you’re urged to turn on the cold water tap in your bathtub or outside and let it run until clear. Pressure reducers with screens may need to be cleaned afterwards.
