Liquor store break and enter caught on camera

Grand Forks RCMP are investigating an early morning break and enter of a liquor store.

At approximately 6:07 AM, the was suspect caught on camera, at local business on the 400 block of Central Ave. The lone thief wore a white painters suit and what appeared to be a pantyhose mask. The suspect then targeted various bottles and can of liquor before leaving the store.

“The suspect gained entry at 6:07 AM by breaking the glass door with a hammer, and once inside, proceeded behind the counter where several bottles of liquor and a few cans of beer were taken”, said Grand Forks Detachment Commander, Sergeant Darryl Peppler in a February 26,2020 media release. “The suspect placed the items in a large light colored backpack before departing out the broken glass door.”

Local police say the investigation is ongoing and that if anyone has any information or if anyone was out driving around between 6:00 – 7:00 AM in the area, and may have any dash cam footage, they are asked to contact the Grand Forks Detachment at (250) 442-8288 or BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-8477.
