Aboriginal Health Coordinator

The Circle of Indigenous Nations provides programs rooted in Indigenous practices that strengthen cultural connection and support holistic healing and learning. The goal of COINS is for a healthy, self-determining, proud and vibrant Indigenous community within the West Kootenay Boundary region.

The newly appointed Aboriginal Health Coordinator, Tonya Robetaille talked with Juice FM and explained that her new position here in Grand Forks is to offer other services such as smudging ceremonies, interaction with elders,  and besides patient advocacy, her position is also to educate doctors and other health professionals as  an understanding of traditional healing methods should be paired with western medicine.
