Charges in Nelson bar incident

A man is facing a number of charges and a Rossland court date after allegedly causing trouble in Nelson’s downtown.

After midnight on April 24th Nelson police were called to a nightclub where staff reported a man was refusing to leave the bar.

Police advised the man to leave and proceeded to respond to another priority call.

About 40 minutes later the NPD received another call from the bar saying the man had been threatening staff.

Police arrived and arrested the accused for uttering death threats.

He was scheduled to be in court today and is facing a number of charges including failing to comply with a probation order, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a peace officer.
