The BC government has issued an overdose alert as there has been increased drug toxicity reported across the province.

Reports of fatal and non-fatal overdoses through smoking and injecting “uppers and downers” have increased over the last few weeks. There have been severe overdoses related to smoking street drugs due to the rapid onset of effects.

Health authorities suggest to use an overdose prevention site, have access to a Naloxone kit, avoid using alone, and talk to your doctor on how to reduce or stop the need to purchase such substances.
