Creston councillors did their best to spread around Columbia Basin grant money throughout the Creston Valley.
This is how councillor Karen Unruh (un-rah) sums up the final recommendations for C-B-T community initiative program funding.
All 34 of this year’s applications from local organizations will receive money.
Unruh (un-rah) says this was achieved through a “Give a bit here, take a bit from there” process.
Town council was allocated just over 75-thousand dollars for this year – which was about 11-thousand shy of the amount requested.
The largest grants are earmarked for the Canadian Red Cross, Valley community services and Creston and District society for community living.
