After mayor Ed Smith stepped down for personal reasons this past February, the top seat in Canada’s smallest city Greenwood,  is being filled by a rotation of city councilors.

The COVID-19 pandemic put all elections and by-elections in BC on hold up until now. The city was given the green light from Elections BC to hold the by-election and residents will go to the polls October 10th to elect a new mayor to fulfill the term left by Smith.
