Community opposition to the possible closure of a Creston school has been heard.
SD-8 Trustee Heather Suttie’s approved amendment to the district’s draft facilities plan sees the Creston Education Centre remaining open if a deal with other partners can be found.
But she says further pulic input is required before she can consider supporting it.
Suttie also put forward a consideration calling for the permanent closure of Yahk Elementary which has no registered students.
The board has voted to start a formal 60-day “consideration” phase of their draft facilities plan.
