The city of Castlegar has been recognized for the swimming ponds at Millennium Park.
This as they have received the 2016 facility excellence award from the BC Parks and Recreation Association.
Councilor Deb McIntosh says the award helps promote the amenity.
The three separate man-made swimming ponds are the first of their kind in the province.
McIntosh says seeing residents enjoy the facility serves as validation for all the hard work that went into making it and she calls this award “the cherry on top”.
