Creston Chamber of Commerce supports BC minimum wage increase

The reaction to the province increasing BC’s minimum wage is divided.

Labour groups want to see it become 15 dollars an hour.

But there are also fears the raise to 10-dollars -85 this year could hurt small businesses.

Creston Chamber of Commerce president Rob Schepers is on board with the raise, but says it needs to be gradual

The first 40 cent increase will take place in September this year.

A second 40 cent raise is expected for September 2017.
