The new Riverfront library-museum in Trail will cost a lot more than originally estimated.
CAO David Perehudoff says the city will seek a loan for the additional costs as the updated budget puts them $2 million over their original loan authorization of $6.2 million.
The original budget was estimated at just over $7.6 million.
But a more elaborate design for the facility with a steel structure rather than wood-frame as well as some challenges with getting utilities underground has added to the amount.
