In Grand Forks, the Christmas spirit for food security was a heartwarming success. For those who were in need of a he;ping hand for their Christmas meals as Christmas Food Hampers totaled nearly 200 families, as well Whispers of Hope’s Courtesy Kitchen served up 72 meals on Christmas eve, and Donaldson Market, the only restaurant open on Christmas day in the region, served up a storm for paid full course meals. Patrons also pre-paid over 30 meals. When the market closed, owner Dean Engen went around the area delivering the free meals.
Engen talked to Juice FM and said that the homeless were given two meals so that they would not feel they would have to dine alone.
