FNHA offers online overdose prevention workshop

The First Nations Health Authority is hosting an online workshop for youth called “Not Just Naloxone” or “NJN”.

The training was developed to respond to BC’s overdose crisis which disproportionately continues to impact First Nations and other Indigenous people.

While Naloxone is a great life-saving medicine to reverse overdose, there are other ways to address overdose.

The NJN workshop will include topics such as:

Racism and Prohibition
Indigenous Harm Reduction
Trauma and Resiliency
Naloxone training

The training will presented for 16 to 18 year old youth on March 25th and on the 26th for 19 to 30 year old youth on Zoom. The training will be taking place during the March break for students attending high school or University/College.
