Former Mayor of Greenwood, Ed Smith, has passed away. He was 77 years old.
Current Greenwood Mayor Barry Noll announced Smith’s death through the City’s official channels.
Smith was elected Mayor in 2014 and stepped down from the position in February 2020, noting health concerns.
Noll said the City of Greenwood has lost a citizen who dedicated years of service to the community, adding that he will also be remembered for his contributions to the City.
On behalf of the City of Greenwood, Noll offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to Smith’s family and friends.
