BCNU ratifies deal

BC nurses have ratified a new collective agreement with the provincial government they say will help improve care for patients.

The 5 year deal includes a $2 million fund which could provide grants for things such as housing assistance and tuition relief to make jobs more attractive to nurses in rural settings.

Here’s BCNU president Gayle Dutiel.

Dutiel says the 5 year deal improves nurse’s prescription drugs benefits and provides for modest increases in compensation.

She says if the deal is implemented the health care for british columbians will improve over time.
