A Grand Forks woman almost broke her iPad in excitement after winning a near $56,000 BC 50/50 ticket.
“I was at home after coming back from a walk with my husband,” said winner Diana Verigin. “I scanned the ticket using the BCLC Lotto! app on my iPad and saw I won. I shook the iPad to make sure it was real and had to scan it again, just to make sure.”
Verigin had bought the ticket from the Canco on Central Avenue and it turned out to be the winner.
When asked what her plans were for the winnings, she said she’s going to treat herself to a new pair of boots, a bike, and a PlayStation for the family. After she’s done with rewarding herself, she says she will share some with her kids.
