Hillside fire extinguished by Grand Forks Fire and Rescue

Grand Forks Fire and Rescue put out a fire last night on a tree-filled hill.

According to George Seigler, Grand Forks Fire Chief, one fire engine, two utility vehicles, and a total of eight firefighters were at the area of 76th Avenue and the Canada Rail Trail until about 1:00 in the morning.

Seigler believes the fire was started from a campfire but the exact cause is still under investigation.

There were no injuries reported during the fire but crews said upon arrival there were two bystanders at the fire trying to put it out.
