Midway Fire and Rescue responds to two crashes

Midway Fire and Rescue was called out to two crashes this week, including one that saw a vehicle roll down a bank.

On Wednesday, they were asked to help remove a vehicle that was tangled in the guywires of a power pole in front of the Riverside Centre and visitor information building in Rock Creek.

In a news release, fire chief Mike Daloise said they did not respond at the time of the incident, but it appears the vehicle left the highway while heading east.

On Thursday evening, they responded to a single vehicle crash in which an eastbound crossed the centre line and rolled down an embankment.

Crews were able to access the patient without using any specialized equipment, Daloise said. The patient was removed from the vehicle and extricated up the bank to the ambulance. Police are investigating the cause.

This vehicle somehow got itself tangled between the guywires of a power pole at Rock Creek. (Submitted by Midway Fire and Rescue)
