Vehicle crashes at Bishop’s Corner on Hwy 3

Midway Fire and Rescue says one man was sent to hospital by ambulance after a single-vehicle crash into a guard rail at Bishop’s Corner on Highway 3 west of Rock Creek last evening.

They responded to the call shortly before 10 p.m., although one firefighter came across the incident before the department was notified. He talked to the lone male occupant, who initially said he didn’t want any help.

The vehicle was westbound when it missed a sharp corner and hit a concrete barrier. The force of the impact dislodged the barrier in one place and broke another. There was extensive damage to the vehicle, which was towed.

Paramedics assessed the driver, who was then taken to hospital. RCMP are investigating the cause.

“Midway Fire and Rescue remind everyone to drive to the conditions and allow themselves extra time to get to their destination,” Chief Mike Daloise said in a news release. “With the increased truck traffic through our area please exercise patience.”
