Three Grand Forks events will benefit from one-time grants from a provincial government fund set up to help festivals and fairs coping with the pandemic.
The Canada Rock Fest music festival will receive $250,000 while the Grand Forks International baseball tournament will get $25,000 and the Grand Forks and District Fall Fair will receive $11,515.
They are among the 680 events across the province sharing in $30 million in one-time grants to support their efforts to resume safely. Event organizers could apply for up to 20 per cent of their total budget, to a maximum of $250,000.
According to a government news release, the money can go toward operational costs, health and safety measures, venue rental, marketing, wages and promotion.
