Trail decides against Fort McMurray donation

The city of Trail will not be making any taxpayer-funded contributions to help those who have been impacted by the Fort McMurray wildfire.

Councilor Lisa Pasin says the city is strongly encouraging residents to donate individually.

Pasin notes red cross as a possible avenue of lending a helping hand.

She adds at least one local small business as well as many grocery stores and liquor stores across the region.

The city does not have a budget for disaster relief donations.
