Nelson parkade needs repairs

The city owned multi-storey parkade in Nelson needs a fix, but it is safe.

This from City Manager Kevin Cormack after an engineering report called for the columns that support each floor to be upgraded.

In the interim 45 stalls can’t be used.

That’s a big loss of parking for the Queen City which already has a shortage of spaces.

Plans to increase those include more angled spots on the foot of Baker Street and the city may also put parking in a lot they own on Railway Street.
