Trail seeks Canada 150 funding

The city of Trail is hoping to cash in on the second round of the federal government’s Canada 150 grant program.

Two projects have been recommended for funds by city council.

They are an expansion to the fitness area at the aquatic centre and a roof replacement for the Trail Memorial Centre.

Director of Parks and Recreation Trisha Davison says replacing the arena’s roof is a top priority.

The new roof has been budgeted at $980,000. If the city’s grant application is successful the funds would look after 50% of those costs.
