Community Gatekeeper Training starts in June

The first training sessions for a region-wide suicide prevention program start up in June.

The Canadian Mental Health Association is urging non-profits, community organisations and individuals to get involved in the Community Gatekeeper Program.

Coordinator Patricia Whalen says they’ve made the training very accessible right across the Kootenay Boundary region.

Whalen says there are group and individual rates for either a half or two day session.

The Community Gatekeeper Program is a three year project to help train people to assist those that are in crisis or at risk of suicide.
