Coordinating Biologist with the Kootenay Community Bat Project Leigh Anne Isaac says these creatures are very beneficial to the ecosystem.
A disease called white nose syndrome has struck the bat population in America and Isaac says it is a matter of time before it hits Canada, so this year’s count is particularly important.
