Mounties investigate early morning arson in Grand Forks

Police are looking into a suspicious fire on a commercial property Donaldson Drive and 76th Avenue in Grand Forks.

They say they were called after 6 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters already had it out by the time they got there but it destroyed a porta-potty and spread to the outside wall of an Atco trailer.

“This was a senseless and reckless act where the potential for someone to get hurt is present and where extensive property damage could have been sustained,” said Sgt. Darryl Peppler. “Thankfully neither happened in this case.”

Anyone with information the crime is asked to contact Grand Forks RCMP at 250-442-8288 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
