Is it time for a pedestrian bridge in Castlegar?

Should the City Of Castlegar finally take the plunge on building a pedestrian bridge across the Columbia River?

The idea of a crossing to Selkirk College has been proposed for years but it has never taken off.

Now with promises of federal infrastucture dollars and big plans by the city for cycling and pedestrians, could the time be right for reviewing the level of community and stakeholder buy-in?

Councillor Florio Vassilakakis supports the vision of a link to the isolated campus.

A pedestrian bridge wouldn’t be cheap but Vassilakakis says Castlegar has shown with its Millenium Ponds that it can dream big and get things done.
