Midway RCMP are warning residents about a cougar hunting in the area.
On Thursday it attacked and injured a horse near the village’s northern border.
Conservation officers and RCMP believe this is the same cougar that was preying on small farm animals in the Kettle Valley area. They say this is unusual for a cougar and they suspect it may be injured or sick and is looking for easier food.
On Sunday the cougar was spotted near the Kettle Valley golf course.

Midway RCMP are working with conservation officers to assess the concern and mitigate the risk.
They’re asking everyone to be extra cautious outside, especially with children or pets.
