Boundary open burning ban to be lifted Friday

Larger open burning will be okay again in the Boundary as of noon Friday.

The Southeast Fire Centre says the ban on Category 3 fires is being rescinded in the area due to a decreased wildfire risk. It had already been cancelled in the West Kootenay.

However, officials cautioned that while recent weather patterns have reduced the risk, you’re still urged to burn responsibly to reduce the likelihood of starting a wildfire.
