Border Bruin Keanan Pearman named KIJHL Young Gun

Grand Forks Border Bruins forward Keanan Pearman had a goal and two assists in two games last week and has been named the KIJHL’s Young Gun, presented by the Next Shift Network.

Pearman had a goal and an assist in the Border Bruins’ 4-2 win over the Columbia Valley Rockies on Oct. 20. The Sherwood Park, Alta. native then collected an assist in their game against Golden to force overtime in a 3-2 shootout loss.

Border Bruins head coach-GM David Hnatiuk said Pearman, 18, has been “blossoming every game from the time he got here.”

“You really see his buy in, different aspects of his game growing quickly and he’s skilled,” said Hnatiuk. “He’s crafty with the puck. He’s leading our team in goals right now with six in 10 games. I think he has figured it out and he’s playing the right way. He’s creating opportunities for himself.”
