A popular swimming hole has been added to Gladstone Provincial Park at Christina Lake.
The provincial government says 8.28 hectares (20.5 acres) has been acquired for the park, including the area known as the potholes.
They say they addition will improve the existing trail network and connectivity through the park.
“Gladstone Park is an ecologically important place, and we know that a healthy ecosystem helps support prosperous communities,” Boundary-Similkameen MLA Roly Russell said in a news release.
“Gladstone also provides year-round recreation opportunities along and above Christina Lake, water that I grew up in, around, and on. I’m thrilled the province has expanded its investment in the park to enhance recreational opportunities and improve ecosystem health in the area.”
It’s one of four parks whose expansions the province announced this week, totalling 109 hectares valued at $1.9 million.
