Trail looks to end “unfriendly” business parking bylaw

Trail city council is looking into scrapping a bylaw that has been perceived as unfriendly to businesses.

This from mayor Mike Martin.

He is speaking to a long standing bylaw which charges businesses that are renovating several thousand dollars for off-street parking.

Martin says the fees have been waived in most of these cases so it has not been a hindrance.

But he feels abolishing this bylaw altogether would eliminate a perception by some that it is unfriendly to downtown businesses.

Martin adds the city is pleased to help and support business ventures in Trail’s downtown.
