Border Bruins boast experience for 2024/25

The Grand Fork Border Bruins are locking in their roster ahead of the 2024/25 season, boasting a lot of experience on the ice and dominant recruits on the way.

“Recruiting has gone really well this year; we have some pretty high-end players coming in, some proven goal scorers in their current leagues and hopefully they can bring that into our program next season for us.”  said Dave Hnatiuk, Head Coach and General Manager, Grand Forks Border Bruins

“We were a pretty young team last year, so we’re coming back with a very veteran squad with these added recruits.”

The Bruins only graduate two players from last season, but both leaving big holes to fill, in Goalkeeper, Ethan Shebansky, and forward and captain, Ray Warrack.

“Ethan was with us for three years and was a key part of our rebuild and success for the past two seasons,” said Hnatiuk.

“We do have Matt Dovichak coming back, he worked with Ethan last year and was our back up, and we have a new goalie signed in Russell Newman, and we are still looking for that third goalie.”

“The holes we needed to fill we have addressed and maybe even a bit more, and we hope with the veteran experience coming back everyone else will step up and contribute a little more.”

Hnatiuk is pleased to be well intro recruitment.

“It is a great spot to be and we still have the off season to get better and improve and get time to focus on looking into the next year.”
