From outdoor adventures just steps away from downtown shops to delicious food and drinks on cafe patios, sidewalk seats at restaurants and artisan bakeries to the small scale farms the food came from, Discover Grand Forks, is here to help you have your best Grand Forks Summer ever.
Funded by a grant from ETSI-BC, Discover Grand Forks, powered by the Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce has hired Abby Devries as our Tourism Ambassador for the summer. You[ll be seeing her around town all summer at events, farmer’s markets and out making great videos of the fun adventures and experiences in Grand Forks for tourism and locals alike.
Let’s let Abby introduce herself:
Hello! I’m Abby De Vries and I will be your Summer Tourism Ambassador (provided through the Boundary Chamber of Commerce). I am currently studying at UBCO in the Health and Exercise Sciences program and am home for the summer term. I have grown up in the Grand Forks area my whole life and I enjoy being a part of this community and the events that go on. I have a deep appreciation of the outdoors and especially enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, and fishing. My favorite season is summer and I’m excited to be your tourism ambassador this year!
What am I going to be doing this summer?
I want to bring awareness to local events, local businesses, and activities in the Boundary area. I will be promoting these things through social media as well as in person at community events and around town. Whether you are new to the area or a long-time community member, I hope to help you discover something new and special around the Boundary area. I will also be promoting businesses in the area!
How can you find me?
I will be around the Grand Forks area all summer long and hope to connect with you whether that is around town or out on the trails. Some of the regular places you can find me will be at the local Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays and Fridays at Gyro Park. You should also be able to find me outside businesses in downtown Grand Forks. Best of all, you can find me participating in local community events – see you there!
Why should you come find me?
Overall, I’m here to promote our beautiful town and show people how much it has to offer. If you are new to town or just visiting, I would love to connect with you and jump-start your Boundary experience with some tips and advice on what to do. If you are a long-time community member, I would love to hear from you and any hidden gems you may have encountered; whether that is a special swimming hole or a favorite spot to eat. Please let me know about any event you may have planned as well so I can help in promoting it. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with all of you in the community!
