Trans Canada Trail Closure

Starting today, Monday, August 26th, the City of Grand Fork’s contractor will be mobilizing to begin Phase 2 construction of the Downstream Industrial Dike next to Rockwool’s facility.
This includes closing the Trans Canada Trail.
The closed section of the trail will be from the parking lot at 68th Avenue through to Darcy Rd. The map shows the extent of the closure.
Map supplied by City of Grand Forks
The trail will be closed from August 26th until late October 2024.
This phase of the project is to install works on the river side of the trail that we are required to complete during the ‘least risk’ fish window. This second phase is scheduled to be completed in late October.
The City recognizes the value this trail provides to commuters and recreational users and appreciates the public’s understanding while we complete this phase of the flood protection work. Please respect the fenced-off areas and do not enter the construction work zone or trespass on neighbouring private property.
