There is a huge gap to fill on Castlegar city council.
This from Mayor Lawrence Chernoff who is speaking as the city prepares for a by-election to fill a vacant spot on council after last month’s passing of councilor Kevin Chernoff.
Mayor Chernoff expects the by-election to be held in the fall.
In the coming weeks the city will appoint a Chief Electoral Officer. Legislation states the the election must be held within 80 days after that is done.
