Fentanyl has a presence in Castlegar and the RCMP are aware of that.

She is speaking to statistics released by the BC Coroners Service which indicate the city has had two deaths as a result of fentanyl use since 2015.
Hall says the drug is seen as a problem in the community but not one that is specific to Castlegar. Nelson recorded one fentanyl related death in 2015 while Trail had one in 2014.
There were 21 fatalities related to the drug across the interior region in 2015. As of April 30th this year there have been 25.
