The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) has reported a tornado has touched down in Christian Valley, 131km north of Grand Forks.
“We have reports that a tornado touched down around Fiva Cr and Christian Valley Rds yesterday. Trees are down. Firefighters from Big White have been deployed to assess.” said RDKB release.
RDKB reports that structures, cars and power lines were damaged in yesterday’s weather event.
Crews are working to restore access and power and remove debris.
